"Music is the universal language of mankind"

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-82)

Applications from musicians up to the age of 30 are limited to those whose home remains in the county of Norfolk, although they may be undergoing their music studies elsewhere.

Applicants will already be highly skilled in one or more of the six disciplines (brass, keyboard, percussion, strings, voice and woodwind).

They will be either undergoing a period of study at a music college, university or specialist school, or are making plans to do so.

Applications are also welcomed from those seeking a limited period of advanced tuition. For example, in a masterclass or a summer school.

Consideration will also be given to those who wish to gain experience and self-confidence by public performance, by assisting with promotion costs.

Applications for grants must be made by 31st December each year, and will be considered by the trustees in the following month.

An Application Form and a copy of the rules are available from the Secretary at the trust's registered office.
